For a few weeks now I’ve been waiting to be laid off, since getting news that my company was being acquired. This morning I got the news from my CEO and Boss that today was the day and I must say that it’s a relief. While I’m sad to leave the friends I made and that I won’t have a hand in the growth of this special software company, this simply makes my maternity leave a little earlier and will extend it longer than expected — on unemployment compensation, so it’s not so bad.
